breathing space workshops

The lessons and exercises in Breathing Space: Twelve Lessons for the Modern Woman have had a tremendously positive reception from readers. The next stage has been to combine the breathing exercises and wisdom into workshops that will enhance the book’s messages with an additional, active, face-to-face element.
The workshops are designed for women of all ages, all interests, and all backgrounds. The emphasis, as in the book, will be on using the breath as a tool for self-discovery and personal transformation. Recent workshops have been a hit in Stockholm, New York, Oregon, Amsterdam, and London.

0900-1200: Lecture, Asana, and Meditation
ISHTA (the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda) is an individualized asana practice accentuating the breath and alignment that also comprises meditation, pranayama, philosophy, and ayurvedic principles. ISHTA was founded by Yogiraj Alan Finger and his father Mani, and descends from a lineage of supreme yogic master teachers. Katrina will explain ISHTA yoga and how to determine the best individualized daily practice based on your needs and circumstances. This will be followed by an ISHTA class and seated ISHTA meditation.

Katrina will discuss how to use the breath to link body, mind, and spirit, including the importance of the breath in yogic philosophy and how the breath can be used as a tool for self-discovery. This will be followed by a practice of simple but effective breathing exercises from the first half of her book, Breathing Space: Twelve Lessons for the Modern Woman, which will help you to eliminate harmful behavior patterns and speed the process of personal transformation.
